Pregnancy and the birth of a baby is a most sacred and beautiful time in a womans life.  It is always transformational and healing, for new mothers and seasoned mothers alike.  There are so many choices a birthing woman must consider, tho a primal and intuitive time, to have the birth experience she wants, her choices must be discovered & supported.  With a caring and compassionate model of maternal care, doulas honour and support  women, sharing evidence based information, and offering women the tools to make informed choices to suit their individual needs.  Supporting women as they empower themselves.  Assisting women to birth in their own way, using their own instincts is a principle that transforms birth into an intensely rewarding emotional and physical experience.  I am honoured to work with the local midwives and Obstetricians/Drs. as I have a deep respect for what they do especially during emergency situations.  I trust in the wisdom of a womans body, and support the choices she makes.  Birth choices are so diverse, I respect the differences women choose to make for their babies birth rite of passage, understanding they may be different from my own choices, and other womens choices.  I will try to accommodate any personal wishes and beliefs to make each womans birth a  beautiful & sacred journey.  I encourage father (& other family members) to be involved as more support for mama during labour results in a better birth experience.  Most important to me is the most gentle entry into this world for your baby, care of the mother, and family unit.
